Online Artificial Intelligence Tools for SEO Content and Why You Should Avoid Using Them
Look, if you’re not a current client and you don’t know who we are, we don’t expect you (nor would we want you) to just take our word for it. In fact, even if you are a current client, you know WELL that we always advise you to do your own research and to form your own opinion. Our job in the blog department is to perform research and to report on that research. We do the hard digging, the investigating, and formulate our opinions based upon our experience. We then bring those findings to you, along with the sources we obtained data from, so that YOU can come to your own conclusions without the fuss and time wasting we went through. Wow, that was a mouth full. With that said, here are some of the current online artificial intelligence tools for SEO content and why you should avoid using them.
ChatGPT
Here is what APP Matics had to say about ChatGPT…
“In summary, Chat GPT is a very helpful tool and it helps enormously in many areas. The extent to which companies can integrate it into their daily business depends entirely on how much automation they want. However, it is essential that Chat GPT should never be used without control.”
You can read the full article from APP Matics here. Our take on this article? Well, read the last few words in the quote above. Sums it up for us at Legal Leads Group. When you’re an attorney or professional business owner, what you publish on your website, social posts, and ads MATTERS. It matters a lot. AI isn’t truly thinking, it is still a software/algorithm based on following rules. We will dive into this later. But simply put, it cannot be used effectively for SEO designed for law firm marketing.
SEMRUSH AI
We also found article reviews about SEMRUSH AI, here is what Unite.AI had to say…
“Semrush offers the most robust SEO tools for keyword research, rank tracking, link building, and analyzing competitors. However, despite having a limited free plan, these tools come at a cost, making Semrush the best for professional marketers or businesses with a dedicated marketing budget. If you are serious about improving your SEO strategies and increasing your website traffic, Semrush is worth the investment.”
This review was a very detailed, very good, and we actually agree with it. HOWEVER, and this a HUGE “however”, the review is about SEMRUSH as a whole. Now, we LOVE SEMRUSH at Legal Leads Group. I myself personally think it rocks. It’s a super helpful tool. But that’s NOT how I feel about the AI content generator. You can read the full article here.
Here is a video you can watch, which is a second review of SEMRUSH AI published by Zulie Rane.
Surfer AI
We LOVED the review from originality.ai, because it was extremely detailed and went into a DEEP dive as to how and why AI content FAILS at law firm marketing and Google search ad creation. Here is what they had to say about Surfer AI.
“However, despite the high SEO score and the quality of the content, expert AI content detectors like Originality.ai can still detect the content as 100% AI-generated, which acts as a timely reminder that human touch and writing skill is still the thing that will take your content from “good” to top page worthy.
Surfer AI: The Final Verdict
Overall, Surfer AI is a fantastic tool for creating SEO-optimized content for any topic. While it certainly isn’t one of the cheaper SEO tools we have reviewed, it is very powerful, and for those who need to generate lots of SEO-friendly AI content, the tool is a significant time-saver.
However, as with all AI-generated content, it’s important to add your own spin to any content you create to ensure it engages with your audience and resonates with new readers.
While Surfer AI can certainly help create the foundations for creating high ranking content, it is your own human touch that will truly take you to the top of Google.”
Pay VERY close attention to the final line in the above quote. If you’re paying for law firm marketing content and ads, you are choosing to INVEST in an ad campaign with the belief that you will make an ROI. Relying upon AI to handle your content and ad creation will burn you over and over again. Period. At least, until REAL AI exists. And at that point, it’s the end of the world. Okay, okay, that last part is a joke.
Top Five Reasons You May Want to Avoid AI for Your Law Firm Marketing Campaign
As you can see from the reviews above, there are a plethora of potential problems with AI. Here are our top 5 issues we have with AI law firm marketing campaigns. Feel free to comment or give us feedback on your opinion(s) regarding using AI for law firm lead generation.
Plagiarism
AI content generators are NOT writing/producing unique content. These software programs “scrub the web”, which means accessing articles that have been already written, and then extrapolate the data and re-write it in a robotic regurgitated format. Just like the review posted by originality.ai, Google’s algo is sophisticated enough to determine plagiarism, as well as AI driven content.
Content Quality
You’re an attorney. Your clients, co-workers, and peers will judge you by what you publish on your site and social feeds. Do you really want to leave that up to a robot, especially one that is “lifting” content from other sources without permission? Seriously? This is an easy reason why you should avoid AI for SEO law firm marketing.
Google Quality Score
As we’ve also mentioned a few times in this article, you’re investing money to make money from your ad campaign. The quality of your content is a VITAL variable within regards to increasing your
